VCFS 2015 Theme

Since 1997, the Vogue Charity Fashion Show has been growing and expanding to become the huge success that it is today. As a completely student run organization, VCFS is a great way to get involved on campus. With a cast of over 150 students each year, the show gives students an opportunity to showcase their creative talents and leadership skills. Students will have the opportunity to get involved with VCFS in a variety of different ways from designing to finance. The 400 students who auditioned for last year’s show included dancers, models, choreographers, fashion designers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, make-up artists, painters, technicians, musicians, interns, and executive leaders. VCFS is excited to start our search for students interested in pursuing their interest in working as part of the cast and crew of a major charity fashion show. We can’t wait to get to know all of you!

After much deliberation, the theme of the Vogue Charity Fashion Show 2014-2015 will be Revival: Art Through the Ages! The show will feature a sequential look at the history of art. Six dominant and influential periods of art will be represented including: Renaissance, The Rococo, Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, Pop Art, and Expressionism.

“This year, Vogue Charity Fashion Show will depict the progression of historical art periods from the past seven centuries. Beginning with the Renaissance era, and ending with Pop Art, we will journey together to truly display a revival of art in an entirely new form: through fashion. We chose this theme because we wanted to incorporate our love of two very different art forms. We wanted to inspire, and show how these pieces of art from centuries past continue to influence the artists of today. The Handbook has been created to display our creative vision for the entire show. It details this theme, and shows the timeline of each era we have chosen, ensuring that each designer understands his or her assigned era to the utmost. Fashion is not only about appearances, it is about being imaginative, innovative, and experimental. Every year, Vogue Charity Fashion Show seeks to push the boundaries of fashion and art, and we hope that this theme will inspire you to do so.” – Erin, Katy & Mckenzie – Creative Directors
